BACKGROUND
Yehoshua Rubin is an Israeli author and spiritual guide who performs
for Hillel houses through out the US. During the performance Yehoshua
creates an atmosphere which allows people to explore their spiritual connection
to Judaism and themselves. His performance includes singing, dancing,
meditation and textual learning.
Summing up Yehoshua's visit, to the Hillel in San Francisco ,Steve remarked,
"Yehoshua guided us on a wonderful voyage through time with a twist
of mysticism and backed up with a melodious guitar."
Bio:
Yehoshua grew up in Pennsylvania and made Aliyah in 1977. He and his wife,
Annette, are raising their four children in the city of Efrat.
Yehoshua was ordained as a Rabbi at Yeshivat Hamivtar, Israel. He studied
Chassidic thought with Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and received his Master's
degree in Educational Psychology, from North Eastern University, Boston
Massachusetts. Today, Yehoshua works as a tour guide, high school teacher
and senior educator at Livnot a work-study program for young adults 20-35.
His academic, rabbinic and spiritual studies led him on an internal journey
to find his spiritual connection to himself, his wife, children and Judaism.
The result of his, on going, journey is his book Spiritual Awakenings
(view excerpt), published by Urim publications.
Since 1998 Yehoshua spends a month a year visiting Hillel campuses throughout
the US.
