MINING THE TRADITIONS OF THE PAST TO CREATE NEW FORMS OF JEWISH MUSIC FOR THE FUTURE:
Greg Wall
This workshop, for music lovers, musicians of all levels, and just plain folk, will examine how contemporary musicians create new material by immersing themselves in the sounds of ancient Jewish musical tradition. Sources from the Bible, synagogue chant, cantorial and folk sources will be uncovered with examples (many from Greg's own work) on various techniques to transform them into modern, cutting edge compositions.

SING A NEW SONG, PLAY A DIFFERENT TUNE, WRITE A NEW CHAPTER : WRITING
WORKSHOP:
Ruchama King Fuerman
The Hassidic Masters write that when G-d created the Torah, He constricted His essence onto words on a page. When we compose stories and, so to speak, concentrate our own essence onto paper, we are actually imitating G-d. Join novelist, Ruchama King Feuerman, in turning your life into stories! Participants' work will be shared in an atmosphere of honesty and encouragement. Exercises are fun and fast-paced and designed to release the creator inside us all. No experience necessary, only a desire to write. The workshop is limited to 15.

THE MYSTICAL POWER OF MUSIC: Finding Your Own Song
Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman
Reb Shlomo's music uplifted, inspired and enchanted us, but what exactly is the mysterious power of music? This workshop by Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman, based on his popular book ìThe Mystical Power of Musicî, delves into the different qualities of music and the reasons it exerts such a strong influence upon us. He draws upon a wide array of sources from Jewish tradition, Kabbalah and Chassidut, as well as modern scientific research. He gives us a profound understanding of the reality of music on every level of existence and the music that lies deep within each individual. A number of creative exercises and singing will assist the participants to integrate and apply the ideas presented.
